Money has a funny way of changing our personality.

One minute, we’re happily enjoying our morning coffee.

Next, we open our banking app, and suddenly we’re amateur accountants, economists and financial prophets… usually predicting doom.

“I’ll never get ahead.”

“Everything costs more these days.”

“I’m broke.”

Sound familiar?

We’ve all said things like that at one time or another.

The trouble is, Florence Scovel Shinn believed those weren’t just passing comments.

They were instructions.

“Your word is your wand.”

She believed our words carry creative power. They don’t simply describe our lives; they help shape them.

They expect unexpected expenses.

Eventually, scarcity becomes their default conversation.

Florence encouraged exactly the opposite.

She taught people to speak as though Divine Supply was already working on their behalf.

Not because they were pretending.

Because they were choosing faith over fear.

There’s a world of difference.

The Conversation Most People Never Have

Here’s something I’d like you to try.

Tomorrow morning, before you rush through your emails or social media, open your banking app.

Don’t stare at the balance.

Don’t wince.

Don’t mutter something under your breath that you’d be embarrassed for your bank manager to hear.

Instead…

Smile.

Take a slow breath.

Then quietly say something like,

“Thank you for the abundance already flowing into my life.”

“New opportunities are finding me every day.”

“Money comes to me through the perfect channels at the perfect time.”

Will your balance double before breakfast?

Probably not.

But something far more important begins to change.

You do.

Why This Simple Habit Works

Florence understood something modern psychology has confirmed many times over.

Your subconscious mind is always listening.

If you repeatedly tell yourself you’re struggling…

It begins looking for evidence that you’re struggling.

If you constantly say,

“Money disappears as soon as I earn it,”

Your mind quietly accepts that as reality.

But when you deliberately choose words of confidence, gratitude and expectation, your thinking begins to shift.

You start noticing opportunities you would previously have ignored.

You become more optimistic.

More resourceful.

More willing to act.

And those small changes often lead to very real financial improvements.

Manifestation isn’t always about attracting something from nowhere.

Sometimes it’s about finally seeing what was there all along.

Be honest.

We all have one.

The following morning, you grab a shovel.

“Just checking whether the roots have started.”

By Friday, you’ve dug it up four more times.

At that point, the poor tree doesn’t need more sunshine.

It needs you to stop interfering.

We often do exactly the same thing with manifestation.

We affirm.

We visualize.

Then we spend the rest of the day wondering why nothing has happened yet.

Florence would probably smile and gently remind us that Divine Order doesn’t wear a wristwatch.

It unfolds at exactly the right moment.

A Better Daily Money Ritual

Instead of checking your bank balance with anxiety…

Turn it into a moment of gratitude.

Open the app.

Smile.

Take one slow breath.

Then repeat an affirmation you genuinely believe.

“I am grateful for everything I have.”

“Every day I become more prosperous.”

“New sources of abundance are opening for me.”

Close the app.

Then go and enjoy your day.

Not because you’ve ignored reality.

Because you’ve chosen not to let fear write the next chapter.

Your Words Matter More Than You Think

Florence Scovel Shinn never suggested that words alone would make someone wealthy.

She knew we still have to recognize opportunities, make good decisions and take inspired action.

But she also understood that every action begins with a thought.

And every thought is reinforced by the words we repeat.

That’s why your financial future doesn’t begin in your wallet.

It begins in your mind.

Choose words that create confidence.

Expect opportunities instead of obstacles.

Speak abundance more often than scarcity.
